Airthings and Norautron continue their good partnership by signing a new agreement to produce Airthings’ professional radon detector, Corentium Pro.

The renewed agreement has a value of between 10 and 15 MNOK and takes place at Norautron’s Norwegian production premises in Horten, where they are pleased to continue the ten-year collaboration.

– We are thankful for the trust Airthings has shown us, and that they have let us take part in their journey from the start and all the way to the global tech company they are today. It has been a pleasure working together with Airthings over the past ten years, and we look forward to continuing, says Bibbi Stålstrøm, Key Account Manager at Norautron.

The first production agreement between Airthings and Norautron dates back to 2011. The contract back then covered the prototyping of their first-ever consumer-oriented product. The two parties have since then developed a good partnership focused on prototyping and producing technology solutions for monitoring and improving indoor air quality. Now they are announcing the renewal of their good collaboration by entering a new contract for the production of Corentium Pro.

Corentium Pro is Airthings’ radon detector for the professional market. The detector samples indoor air through a passive diffusion chamber, using alpha spectrometry to precisely calculate the radon level. Radon is detected using silicon photodiodes to both count and measure the energy of alpha particles resulting from the decay chain of radon gas.

For Airthings, proximity to Norautron’s production site and a good, trust-based relationship between the parties were two important factors that contributed to an extension of their agreement.
“Norautron has been a loyal and reliable production partner for Airthings providing high-quality products over the last ten years and we are excited to continue our good cooperation,” says Øyvind Birkenes, CEO of Airthings.
