Norautron will invest in a robotic manufacturing cell for assembly of ABAX hardware
As a result of the extension of the manufacturing agreement with ABAX, Norautron has decided to invest in a full automatic manufacturing cell. The cell will be flexible with a capability of assemble, mark and pack four unique products. With this new cell, hardware can be assembled in Norway at a competitive cost level.
With this new assembly line, the YuMi cobot (as in Collaborative robot) is taken to the next level. Since the first YuMi was installed in September last year, we have had a steep learning curve. The assembly line will have a capacity of xyz products and will cost. The line will be installed towards the end of 2017.
This manufacturing concept will later on be copied and installed at the other ABAX manufacturing also.
We willl provide more information in the following news letter. As we will also inform about some of the ongoing R&D programs Norautron are involved in with the support from the Research Council of Norway. In these programs, the flexibility of the usage of cobots is studied. It is a broad understanding, that the use of cobots is necessary in the Nordic countries in order to improve the competitiveness on assembly processes.
